Information on Trade and Business

Cyprus offers one of the world’s most globally-orientated and business-friendly environments for establishing corporate structures within the European Union. With EU membership and the harmonization of legislation, Cyprus’ reputation has grown whilst the corporate tax rate remains the lowest in the European Union at 10%. Attracted by a wide network of over 40 double taxation treaties, a highly educated, multilingual workforce, state-of-the-art telecommunications and world-class business services, the island now hosts over 230,000 registered companies from Cyprus and across the world.
The island is a vibrant business center, offering an all-round package of services, from banking and accounting, to sophisticated telecommunications and technologies, to world-class professionals and a highly qualified workforce. Cyprus offers significant advantages to companies looking to reduce their overall tax burden, whether they do so by using the island as a springboard from which to launch their products or services into regional markets, or whether they choose to use Cyprus to set up a holding company for their international operations.
Cyprus’ strategic location at the crossroads of three continents has been a major factor in shaping its history throughout the centuries and its development into an international business center in recent years. European Union and Eurozone membership have further enhanced the island’s attractiveness which has been transformed into a key outpost in the eastern Mediterranean, serving as a business bridge between Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
